Speed and Agility for Athletes

This comprehensive 60 minute group program is designed for athletes of all sports. The workout begins with foam rolling, stretching, activation, active warm up, linear and lateral speed development, quickness, plyometrics (jumping), and core strengthening. The second part of the workout is dedicated to explosive power, using the Olympic lifts, increasing overall body strength and various forms of conditioning. Utilizing the proven techniques of the MBSC program and with the guidance of Dr. Cassie Mazimenko, (USA professional cyclocross athlete), Thrive Sports & Fitness has one of the most comprehensive ACL training programs in Connecticut.

 

The MBSC approach

The MBSC approach includes movement training, ACL injury reduction and rehabilitation, speed techniques, agility, power development, strength training, and energy system conditioning. Please give us a call if you'd like to learn more.

Meet Jayden Hozer, a standout Freshman at Pomperaug High School. Jayden just finished his first soccer season, where he earned a starting Mid-Fielder on the Panthers Varsity Soccer Team.

 

Part of Jayden’s preparation for a successful soccer season has been training in the off season at Thrive's Sports & Fitness. The strength and mobility from Thrive Sports Performance Program fueled Jayden through his freshman season, where he stayed healthy, injury free and thrived as a key player for the Panthers.

Congratulations to Thrive Sports & Fitness athlete, Scarlet Broderick. As a former standout and captain on Pomperaug’s High School Soccer team, Scarlet excelled in the transition to her freshman year at Babson College and claimed a starting position as a defender for the Beavers Varsity Team.

 

Scarlet has been part of Thrive's Sports Performance Program for the past 3 years. We look forward to beginning our off season training program and continuing to build strength for her sophomore season at Babson.
